Call for Artists: Community Connection @ Dominion Energy

Ingenuity Cleveland is pleased to announce a call for artists to provide photographic and other visual artworks for Dominion Energyā€™s Community Connection initiative.  

About the Initiative

Dominion Energy is updating artwork on its Cleveland-based campus located in the St. Clair Superior neighborhood.  Seeking to create a connection to the neighborhood(s) surrounding the campus through updated artworks, Dominion Energy places focus on human needs, environmental stewardship, education, and community vitality.  Dominion Energy is inviting local photographers and artists to submit their works for a cash award. The selected artwork will be printed professionally and displayed at the Dominion Energy Campus in St. Clair ā€“ Superior neighborhood beginning in early 2020.

What type of Art will be Considered?

Goal: Connect the Dominion Energy Cleveland campus to the surrounding neighborhood(s), and the people who live and work here.

We are seeking primarily photographic works, though some 2D visual artworks created in other media and some 3D artworks will be considered.  Square format is preferred, and works will be reproduced in a range of sizes up to 36Ć—36ā€¯.

Themes

  • Neighborhoods: with a particular focus on the following neighborhoods
    • St. Clair / Superior, Collinwood, Glenville, Hough, Buckeye, Slavic Village, Tremont, Ohio City, Downtown Cleveland, etc.
    • People who live and work in the neighborhood(s) listed above
  • Unique landmarks: primarily featuring buildings, bridges, parks and most importantly, the people in the community
  • Bridges of Cleveland
  • Cleveland Sports
  • And other things that truly express the unique nature of Cleveland

Remember: The goal of the project is to create a sense of community connection between Dominion Energy and surrounding neighborhoods.

You may enter your artwork(s) for consideration by completing the above-linked form.  Please provide as much detail as possible when completing the form; note that your photo/work description, artist bio, and photo will all be used to display your art if your works are selected.

Additional details

All submissions are welcome.  In most cases, individual chosen works will be awarded a $100 stipend for a high-res digital file that will be issued to the artist upon completion of the project.  If multiple works are chosen, additional compensation will be awarded. Three-dimensional works and originals may be compensated at a higher rate.  We will cover the cost of high-quality reproduction for all prints, and all works will be recognized through a permanent printed plaque and through an online directory of artistā€™s profiles.
