Ingenuity Announces 2017 Festival Dates, Location and Theme

May 24, 2017 – (Cleveland, OH) Ingenuity announced at its annual Bal fundraiser earlier this month that the 13th annual IngenuityFest will be held September 22-24, 2017 at the newly established Hamilton Collaborative (5401 Hamilton Avenue) in St Clair Superior. The festival will present a range of performances, exhibits, and activities including dance, music, interactive exhibits, hands-on maker activities, local vendors, and more. In addition, a new cohort of IngenuityLabs projects, incubating artists and entrepreneurs on site, will be on display. Offerings from local food vendors and Cleveland breweries will be available. Admission to the event is $5 for adults and free to kids 12 and under.
After a successful pilot in 2016, the Hamilton Collaborative is launching this spring to create a maker hub and co-working space that serves the entire community with programming and educational opportunities for children and adults. In 2017, Ingenuity will continue to partner with collaborative members to build offerings, including working with Rust Belt Riders on the conversion of a 2-acre former scrapyard into a teaching garden and sustainable demonstration site. Other Collaborative members include, Soulcraft Woodshop, Skidmark Garage, Rebuilders Xchange, MorrisonDance, and
Architecture Office.
An open call is currently available on our website, www.ingenuitycleveland.com/applytoday for artists, creators, inventors, and experimenters to propose projects large and small. A separate application is available for IngenuityLabs, offering space and access to tools, resources and materials within the collaborative for the summer and beyond at http://ingenuitycleveland.com/incubate. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with preference given to those received before June 15.
This year, Ingenuity’s theme of “Metamorphosis” will serve as an inspiration for participants. This theme is emblematic of the evolution of our organization and transformation of the neighborhood. We are proud to announce the return of IndusTree Alley, Makers Mecca, ARTchiTECHtonica, MOTOmagination Station, Music Meadow and more, in addition to a range projects which exemplify metamorphosis in all of its beautiful intricacy.
