Cleveland, OH – (June 9, 2015) Ingenuity has announced that their 11th annual IngenuityFest will be held October 2-4. While returning to the lakefront, this year the Festival will be centered on Voinovich Park, with a greater emphasis on waterfront programming and urban experience. Ingenuity hopes to to grow programming in the Great Lakes Science Center & Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum for the three-day annual celebration of creativity and innovation. The festival is free and open to the public.

“Last year Ingenuity celebrated its 10th birthday, and as we head into the next 10 years we’ll be making some changes, internally and externally. We’ve already started the year off with a pretty big change – a new Program Director. All of these conversations and transitions have given the entire staff a renewed energy and it is thrilling to see what will be in store for us!” says Paula Grooms, Ingenuity’s Executive Director. “We’re really looking at ways to dig deep into the community and build new connections. Joe Cimperman will be sponsoring the Festival this year as his Councilmanic event, and we’re bringing in new partners representing greater access to arts, education, and industry.

Emily Appelbaum, Ingenuity’s Program Director, is committed to creating a festival experience attendees will be sure to remember. “All these new connections aren’t simply about showcasing the talent around town, they’re about getting visitors involved in Cleveland’s creative landscape, whether by doing a hands-on activity onsite, or uncovering the inspiration or contacts to follow up with a personal passion. We’re changing user experience to reflect all this; the focus is finding exceptional ways to enjoy the environment and interact with each other. Much less about artist versus audience and much more about co-creation.”

IngenuityFest attracts an audience of about 40,000 each year. Previous locations include Public Square, East 4th Street, Prospect Avenue, Playhouse Square, the Veterans Memorial (Detroit-Superior) Bridge, and Docks 30 and 32 on Cleveland’s downtown lakefront.
