FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 7/26/2018

IngenuityFest 2018 is September 28-30 at the Hamilton Collaborative in St. Clair Superior!
Local Makers, Artists, and Vendors can still join the spectacle!

July 26, 2018 – (Cleveland, OH) Ingenuity’s 13th annual IngenuityFest will once again welcome thousands of visitors to the Hamilton Collaborative (5401 Hamilton Avenue) in St. Clair-Superior, September 28-30, 2018. The festival will present a range of performances and activities including dance, music, interactive exhibits, hands-on maker activities, local vendors, and more. In addition, a new cohort of IngenuityLabs projects, incubating artists and entrepreneurs on site, will be showcased. Offerings from local food vendors and Cleveland breweries will be available.  Admission to the event is $5 per day or $10 for the weekend for adults. The festival is free to kids 12 and under.

This year, Ingenuity’s theme of “FuturePast” celebrates the return of cherished traditions melded with the drive toward progress, forging a reimagined future. It will feature a mash-up of old-school technology and a newfound emphasis on community & localism, plus glimpses into the future as it was envisioned at various points throughout the ages. It is a homecoming in many ways, celebrating a former industrial facility reawakening with new art and manufacturing, whimsical ideation, and a hum of imagination from the many renaissance thinkers who call the Hamilton Collaborative home. It will feature new festival villages such as The Great Hall of Ages, as well as previous favorites: IndusTree Alley, Makers Mecca, ARTchiTECHtonica, Forest Foundry, Music Meadow and more.

Ingenuity is celebrating the completion of its first full year in the Hamilton Collaborative, a maker hub and co-working space that serves the entire community with programming and educational opportunities for children and adults. In 2018, Ingenuity will continue to work with collaborative members to build offerings. In partnership with Rust Belt Riders, a Hamilton Collaborative member and  graduate of the first IngenuityLabs cohort, Ingenuity will showcase the conversion of a 2-acre former scrapyard into a teaching garden and sustainable demonstration site. Other Collaborative members include Soulcraft Woodshop, Skidmark Garage, Rebuilders Xchange, MorrisonDance, and Architecture Office and 3 Barn Doors.

This year’s festival will enjoy a special focus on dance offerings, with a stage dedicated to various forms of movement, including the multi-disciplinary works of Fire and Light Performing Arts, a brand new vertical dance collaboration with MorrisonDance building on 2017’s Leaping Off The Wall, and a variety of opportunities inviting festival-goers to participate in movement activities.
