Ingenuity to Host “Creative Corridor” Event to Engage Public in AECOM-led THRIVE 105th – 93rd Street Corridor

Cleveland, OH – (September 15, 2016) Ingenuity, along with the AECOM-led THRIVE E. 105th-93rd team, will be hosting a Creative Corridor Event to engage the public, garner feedback, and provide a platform for the visioning of creative solutions. The event will be held at IngenuityFest 2016: Awakenings.

IngenuityFest and the Creative Corridor Event will be held this year in the Saint Clair Superior Neighborhood, at E. 53rd and Hamilton Avenue. Attendees will be able to view artist-driven projects and displays all weekend, participate in an interactive creation station, as well as attend a Saturday panel discussion on creative strategies to promote inclusion, artistry, entrepreneurship and quality of life in the E. 105th – 93rd corridor.

Saturday’s panel will be at 3:00pm and feature Freddy Collier, Cleveland’s Director of City Planning, along with Peter Lawson Jones (Civic Leader & Community Engagement Specialist), Ryan Bouma (Landscape Architect and Urban Designer, AECOM), Dru McKeown (Architect & Creative Workforce Fellow, Architecture Office) , Peter Debelak (Entrepreneur & Woodworker, Soulcraft CLE), Jennie Doran (Designer, Curator & Owner/Founder, Room Service) & Steve Manka (Sculptor & Public Artist), Nicole Delamotte (Cleveland Arts & Culture Writer).

Transportation to the Creative Corridor Event will be provided through a partnership with Westside Shuffle, and will be free to neighborhood residents picked up from the following locations:

Tickets to IngenuityFest 2016 are available on www.ingenuitycleveland.com – $5 for an individual day pass or $10 for a full weekend pass. Kids 12 & under, and residents arriving for the Creative Corridor event, will be free.

Ingenuity’s work to engage the community on this project is part of an AECOM-led transportation study commissioned by the City of Cleveland. The study of the East 105th and 93rd Street Corridor will help identify strategies to promote economic development and quality of life in the urban area, and address challenges such as economic stagnation and vacant lots. The TIGER Grant-funded study integrates transportation-related strategies with the broader goals of fostering a sense of vibrancy, economic opportunity, creativity & entrepreneurship for improved quality of life benefiting all residents.
