Cleveland, OH (September 15, 2014) — Ingenuity is proud to announce the launch of a new program, Engines of Ingenuity Summit, to be premiered at the tenth annual IngenuityFest (September 26-28), in an effort to spark unlikely conversations within the entrepreneur, artist,  and business communities. The Engines of Ingenuity Summit will last from 10:30am to 4pm on Saturday, September 27 in the Reinberger Auditorium of the Great Lakes Science Center.  Programming will include exhibit tables, panel discussions, presentations, and a workshop on “The Art of the Pitch”. For up-to-date information on programming and registration, visit www.ingenuitycleveland.com/engines.

The summit will be hosted by Michael DeAloia, a tech columnist for the Plain Dealer, co-host of Cleveland Confidential Radio and co-founder and partner at emergingchefs.com. Topics will  include: Intellectual Property vs. Open Source, Defining Audience in the 21st Century, Hacking Health, and Monetizing Game Play.

Speakers and panel members will have participants from The Cleveland Clinic, Nottingham Spirk, Case Western Reserve University, Bizdom, Content Marketing Institute, Veritix, Rosetta, and more.

Ingenuity Executive Director, Paula Grooms says, “We intend this summit to spark the entrepreneurial spirit among companies of all sizes, as well as with our highly engaged audience. This is a one-of-a-kind event that offers a new way to foster this spirit by changing the typical conference/tradeshow paradigm and breaking down barriers normally separating established companies from start-ups. We believe this rarely found integration will lead to exciting trans-industry innovative solutions.”

There is a minimal registration fee of $5 to reserve a space to attend the summit. Table fees start at just $85 for start-up businesses. To register, please visit eoisummit.eventbrite.com

The summit will run parallel to the Make Space in the Great Lakes Science Center. The Make Space is a combination of manufacturers, DIYers, students, faculty, and anyone else looking to experiment to hold workshops, explain do-it-yourself projects, showcase advanced technologies, participate in crafts, and host mini-presentations.

This year, the Make Space will feature a series of presentations as part of our So You Think You’re a Maker? segment on Sunday from 12pm-5pm, hosted by Case Western Reserve University. Parker Hannifin will also be showcasing 2 models from their “Chainless Challenge” competition  – a challenge sponsored by the Parker Hydraulics Group to have students build a bicycle powered by hydraulics instead of a chain drive.
