As we wrap up a season filled with challenges and hope, Ingenuity Cleveland is proud to offer a fun-filled day of programming to gather together and remind ourselves what it's all about: great times with friends old and new, conversations about community, and laughter in the late summer sun!

Ingenuity at the Lake is a culmination of our year-long neighborhood programming, activating our community through monthly Ignite! Neighbor Nights in Saint Clair Superior, and our series of Hip! Hooray! popups with partners from the Cleveland Metroparks, Famicos Foundation, and the CHEERS initiative.

On our traditional IngenuityFest weekend, we're excited to continue expanding our neighborhood offerings with a family-focused, open-air event in Metroparks' North Gordon and City of Cleveland South Gordon Parks. The site is near the 72nd Street Harbor and Lakefront Reservation at the North end of Cleveland's Rockefeller Park and intersection of Saint Clair Superior and Glenville Neighborhoods, and the event is set up to emphasize the pathways and connections that bring residents to the Lakefront - Strap on some skates with RollinBuckeyez Foundation at South Gordon, then lace your walking shoes and follow one of the activated pathways to experience muralists and live painting, pop-up performance, Community Conversation boards and more!

End at the water's edge in North Gordon Park to catch a Lakefront Stage performance, jam with our fave resident mobile DJ & recording Rig the Splice Cream Truck, get your groove on with Cleveland Flow Collective, enjoy youth activities and crafts or some good ol' fashioned outdoor fun with Recess Cleveland!

Ingenuity at the Lake is completely free this year, but if you are inclined, please leave us a donation to ensure the return of our year-round programming and a Spectacular IngenuityFest in 2022.

You can learn more about opportunities to get involved, and the rest of our programming partnerships for Fun in the Sun all summer long with friends Famicos Foundation, Saint Clair Superior Development Corporation, Bike Cleveland and CHEERS/Metroparks - Hip Hooray!

More about our commitment to the Lake

Alongside our partners, Ingenuity has been working as an invested stakeholder on the upcoming Metroparks-led CHEERS initiative to Embrace the Lake.  We hosted a Common Ground conversation, neighborhood conversations at Neighbor Night events with Famicos Foundation and brought attention to the Safe Routes to Parks initiative alongside Bike Cleveland and Saint Clair Superior Development Corp, and so much more. Most of these efforts are centered on bringing our neighborhood to the waterfront, network-building and drawing connections.

Ingenuity hosted a series of free, family friendly fun pop-up events to help community members Embrace the Lake!  Each event had exhibitors, discussions, special treats, giveaways and opportunities to learn about, and provide feedback on the plans for the future of harbor, coastline, parks and community connections between East 55th and East 72nd street.  Check out more information below!

Supported by the national Safe Routes Partnership, Bike Cleveland is working with the City of Cleveland, Cleveland Metroparks, St. Clair Superior Development Corporation, Famicos Foundation, the Kent State Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative, Ingenuity Cleveland and other stakeholders to achieve safe and equitable access to the lakefront along East 55th and East 72nd Streets. The Cleveland Harbor Eastern Embayment Resilience Study outlines a plan for additional parkland and habitat along Cleveland’s Lake Erie shoreline in proximity to the St. Clair-Superior and Glenville neighborhoods. CHEERS illustrates the importance of investing in coastal resilience measures to improve communities, working with residents and stakeholders to protect critical infrastructure, stabilize habitat, expand recreation, ameliorate previous industrial uses & unjust development practices, and help current and future generations to Embrace the Lake.
All Common Ground conversations have the same goal: to create spaces where meaningful connections are made and purposeful actions begin. Common Ground events are built by community members, organizations, businesses and nonprofits that care about the future of our community and want to be a part of a forward-looking conversation.
